Shiki is a percussion group comprised of Ayami Okamura and Dan deSimone based out of Detmold, Germany.

In May of 2015, Shiki debuted at the Boston Conservatory which began a path for the two to collaborate together
with composers internationally as well as locally within Boston.

In the summer of 2016, the two began a tour, playing in California and parts of Japan performing contemporary works which included two premiers by a Japanese composer, Takuo Kochi and an American composer, David Vess. The duo has also recorded sample marimba and experimental percussion sounds for Converse’s Rubber Tracks studio. The 2 libraries can be found on www.conversesamplelibrary.com.

In 2017, Shiki was invited to Zeltsman Marimba Festival at Rutgers University as guest.
The duo premiered "DJ Dog Demockracy" for drum set and marimba by Julie Spencer at Okamura’s quintet “Legare Incontro” concerts which were held in three cities in Japan.
